Performance against strategy

To be the cornerstone of healthcare services in South Africa, through the gift of life

Testing and quality

Aspiration

Provide quality testing in an efficient manner.

Strategic Priorities
  • Harmonise quality standards to meet international benchmarks
  • SANBS products and services meet the quality control requirements of regulatory bodies and national standards to meet internal and external customer requirements
FY2021 Highlights

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the laboratory shifts were split into smaller shifts to reduce the number of staff that would require quarantining if a Covid-19 case occurred. This shift change meant that the laboratory worked 24 hours which increased the turn-around time for test results.
