It was a diverse team indeed. The one comfort I had was that our manager was a woman. All went well from day one and with time I realised that my assumptions and expectations were unfounded. I was treated as an equal and this inspired me to work even harder. I then decided to study SAP \u2013 Materials Management in 2012 funded by SANBS which I completed successfully. In 2016 I was appointed as a <strong>SAP Support Analyst<\/strong> within the ERP team.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In 2021 I was promoted to the position of a <strong>SAP Procurement Analyst<\/strong> which I still hold. It allowed me to learn from people\u2019s behaviour, how diverse we are and still respect each other. My communication skills improved, I gained a lot of confidence, and my perception about different races changed. The fact that the company\u2019s main focus is to save people\u2019s lives is fulfilling as I know that the work I do is important. The experience still amazes me every day!\nAt the time of joining SANBS, I only knew that they dealt with blood donation but I soon discovered that SANBS does much more than merely drawing blood from Donors, including all the processes involved in blood processing. Technology has significantly advanced and mobile computers are now being used by mobile clinics. We also have software and technologies that allow us to assist users remotely. Online systems have been implemented in different departments to move away from manual paper-based systems. \nSANBS is moving with the world, we are adopting and adapting to world standards and trends which has simplified our processes. ICT is running on newer versions of hardware and software which improves online security for SANBS as a whole. Now we are able to work from home due to the technology and capabilities that SANBS has implemented. My communication skills improved, I gained a lot of confidence, and my perception about different races changed. The fact that the company\u2019s main focus is to save people\u2019s lives is fulfilling as I know that the work I do is important. The experience still amazes me every day!\nAt the time of joining SANBS, I only knew that they dealt with blood donation but I soon discovered that SANBS does much more than merely drawing blood from Donors, including all the processes involved in blood processing. Technology has significantly advanced and mobile computers are now being used by mobile clinics. We also have software and technologies that allow us to assist users remotely. Online systems have been implemented in different departments to move away from manual paper-based systems. \nSANBS is moving with the world, we are adopting and adapting to world standards and trends which has simplified our processes. ICT is running on newer versions of hardware and software which improves online security for SANBS as a whole.
